My Golf Journey
I grew up playing many sports other than golf. Through the years, I developed a love and passion not only for the sport, but also the training and fitness necessary to be successful. I was fortunate enough to play Collegiate tennis and remember watching Tiger Woods’ transcendent performance at the 1997 Masters. His unique blend of power, accuracy, touch, feel and athleticism made me want to pick up a club!
I started playing the game and got bit by the golf bug like most of us do. I immersed myself in the intricacies of the golf swing, exploring different teaching philosophies, playing styles, and the factors that separated good players from great players—both amateur and professional. I wanted to learn everything I could about the game. Through my parallel journey through medical school, training and practice, I discovered some synergy between golf and Orthopedics. I realized that my medical knowledge in Orthopedics could be applied to my study of the golf swing and that blending of information could be used to help golfers of all ages and skill level.
As a Board-Certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in sports medicine for over 14 years, I’ve honed my skills and continue to learn every day. Now, I want to leverage that knowledge and expertise to teach golfers about the human body, how their bodies are designed to move, how to recover from an injury, how to prevent injuries, increase their swing speed, play more golf, and most importantly, have more fun and enjoy this game we all love.Â

My parallel journey through medical school and training at the same time revealed some synergy between these interests of mine. My understanding of human anatomy, physiology, sports injuries, and their treatment developed through my years of training. I realized that my medical knowledge could be applied to my study of the golf swing and that blending of information could be used to help golfers prevent and treat injuries and improve their overall health and well-being.
As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine for over 13 years, I’ve honed my skills and continue to learn every day. Now, I want to share some of this knowledge and expertise with golfers around the world. I want to help them understand how their bodies are designed to move, recover from an injury, prevent injuries, increase their swing speed and athletic performance, and, most importantly, have more fun and enjoy this game we all love.Â
